Microsoft — Windows TCP/IP stack
When blamed in a crash: Often a victim, dig deeper
What to do
Windows' network stack. It crashes when a network adapter driver, VPN or firewall filter underneath feeds it garbage.
- Update the Wi-Fi/Ethernet driver from your PC maker.
- Update or remove third-party VPN/firewall software.
- As a reset: netsh int ip reset and netsh winsock reset from an admin terminal, then reboot.
