Policy keys enforce settings the normal Settings app can't change back — the mechanism behind 'This setting is managed by your administrator'.

What changing it does

Whatever this sets will look 'locked' in the UI afterwards. Legitimate for admins and some documented tweaks; remember where it came from so you can undo it.

Risk level: caution. A .reg file from an unknown source touching this location deserves real scrutiny before you merge it.
